BOTTLE OPENER

A study in wear and use, the bottle opener seeks to express a simplicity of form with a maximum understanding of function. Originally designed by Brendan while he was a graduate student at the Rhode Island School of Design, the opener was to designed to develop a rich patina with use and time, like a pair of blue jeans or a cast iron pan. Little more than a wooden block with a nail in it, the opener utilizes magnets to store it conveniently on the fridge and catch the pried loose bottle cap. The bottle opener was licensed by Areaware in 2009 and has been in production ever since, now available in all sorts of colors and finishes.
