The Ada Sconce gets its name and its raison d’être from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which dictates that hallway sconces must not protrude from the wall more than 4”. But the Ada Sconce gets its inspiration from Charlotte Perriand’s archetypal CP-1, in our opinion one of the best sconces ever made. Solid sheet metal construction, modern LED technology, and wet rating make our update both classic and contemporary. Ada is fully suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
After introducing our Ada Sconce in 2016, we heard time and again of the need for considered outdoor lighting. As we perfected Ada in our standard finishes for wet rating, we wanted to celebrate this sought-after finish by introducing it as a standard option in a material that can exist outdoors and become more beautiful through its interaction with the elements.
We've created bespoke versions of Ada with raw copper and brass in the past, admiring the way those materials patina with time and use, and Corten was a natural fit for this new outdoor application. The raw texture it develops complements the material simplicity of the sconce, and we're thrilled to share this long awaited production piece with you soon.
